If I'd made it today, it would seem to have come out of the blue (though "irrelevant" still doesn't apply to it, as the statement still applies). But I didn't make it today. Why do you suppose I made this meme four months ago?
Take a look at what was in the news in mid to late January, then take a look at the memes around here from that time period. If you still don't see how it was relevant, then you're even more dense than I thought.
