Seems to me like millenials have understood history better than you do.

I am actually a millennial. Look at the history of regimes that establish communism versus fascism. The result is the same: oppression, starvation, and people wanting to escape.

You will never get anywhere with antithesis on this. He is by his own admission on the side of the communists. He doesn’t even realize that Stalin by himself killed more people than Hitler. When the government controls every aspect of society to the degree communism does it puts at risk that tyranny will prevail in an effort to control the populace and eliminate people deemed inferior. Fascism does that as well but in a different context. Fascism and communism are really just two sides of the same coin. They both promote utopian visions on desperate gullible people to bring about tyranny. They both blame a certain segment of the population to promote tyranny. Communism blames the rich and powerful while fascism blames a certain segment of the population, like Hitler did with German Jews. People are inherently greedy and too much power in one individual can lead to moral decay, even if their efforts are initially good.

Thank you, cliff notes from 1984.

Left and right as a political spectrum comes from the early days of the French Revolution, where the people who thought that the relationship with the monarchy could and should be repaired sat on the right, and those who believed the monarchy could and should be abolished entirely sat on the left.

The idea still extends accordingly: the left wing believes is a flatter society with fewer differentiation between elite and working class, while the right wing believes that society should have some kind of meritocracy and a social hierarchy is a sign that this is working.

As you have pointed out, through a certain set of eyes, we can recognize that certain practices seem to recur in governments of both left and right wing implementation - as, indeed, George Orwell noticed that these practices permeate through governments that one might even consider to be moderate.

But that does not mean left and right have been blurred to the degree you are suggesting. Nazism believes in the rule of the Overman, which is not a left wing thing. Communism believes in the rule of a global collective, which is not a right wing thing.

And it's about time you worked that out.

And it's about time you read 1984 instead of just the cliffnotes.
