It's actually spelled Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mormon was a prophet who died along time ago. And since when are we a cult?

At least since Joseph Smith tried to shoot his way out of a treason conviction in Illinois. The local newspapers paint a much different picture of Joseph Smith than the church does. He tried to shoot his way out of the jail using a pepperbox smuggled to him by Cyrus Wheelock., and managed only to get himself and his brother killed.

Funny how the church fails to mention that Joseph Smith killed two men that night.

My favorite part of the Joseph Smith story is the Anti-Bank - he stole all of that money.... Every time Joseph Smith had to flee to escape "mob violence" it was a direct result of some scam he tried to pull.

I like to fancy myself a collector of stories about holy men who turned out to be common crooks. I've met so many personally. Two embezzlers, a child molester, and at least a dozen thieves - who were Mormons. Two of those thieves - were missionaries. This isn't hearsay - I have direct knowledge.

I think organized religion is a hiding place for the truly wicked. It's a place where they can pretend to be faithful, pretend to be righteous, and as long as they don't shit where they eat - they can have an army of character witnesses. I contend that it's safer to have faith outside of organized religion - because I'm not expected to trust anyone.

I won’t deny that people in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints have chosen the wrong path and have done bad things. It was their choice, and they chose poorly.

Even after seeing an angel from God, Laman and Lemuel still had hard hearts and murmured. They seemed to completely forget that an angel had just visited them. Just like us today. Satan is trying his hardest to stray us from the path. Some follow and some don’t. God still loves us.

It's actually Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mormon was a prophet in the Americas who died around 2000'ish years ago (1700'ish? 1800'ish?). And no we don't think gays (or members of the lgbabcedivnzbovifnavIo community) should die. I don't know who told you that, but we don't believe they (or anyone else) should die.
