Okay, that makes me realize we think of time differently.

I look at 50yrs and 200yrs, in the grand scheme of the planet overall, as maybe one second removed from one another. No difference in time. People in 200yrs will not be us but the problems they face with 300' more of ocean, will be just as huge. I'd see this as a problem even if it were a longer timeframe than 200yrs.

Probably going to be longer than that. The US scores fairly low as far as industrial nations go for pollution. Aim at China and India to actually make a difference. And fat people. The consume more and drive healthcare through the roof.

We're number two in the world and were number one up till about 5yrs ago.

We are no small producer. For the 5% of the worlds population, we're the worst.

Eh....that's specifically for carbon. There are lots and lots of different pollutants.
Non the less. Most people dont care. They dont feel that they owe tomorrow a clean planet. I've seen several energies that would change the face of the planet...no one picked it. Just want profitable. I.e.... I saw a working air driven (pneumatic) car. Little on the small side , topped out at 40mph, but.....next to free fuel. Wind mills turned air compressors mechanically. Simply refill. No one was interested bc it only went 40 and had to refill every 200 miles.

Electric vehicles give up nothing. They're better. Solar PV large scale is now the cheapest new electrical plant to build. Cheaper than new coal plants.

It's all about money. Renewables are now beating fossil fuel.
