Isn't this a case of humans affecting environment not climate?
It's a very hard thing to stop in this case because even if the western countries stop using palm oil or boycotted it's use. The low cost makes it a popular oil throughout Asia and it's demand is ever increasing.
Deforestation affects the climate, probably more than carbon. We've cut down 46% of all trees, and they would've absorbed a lot of that carbon, provided us with a lot more oxygen, lowered temperatures, and weakened storms.
