Or they could do it purely for the fun of it. This is what I go by, the points aren't worth a damn thing outside of this site and at most effect how much you can post at a time. I made it this far not because I wanted to be popular but because I love making meme.
I have nothing against self advertising, but what you were doing wasn't self advertising, or even normal advertising. I've shown off my memes plenty of times, but what I don't do is blast random other images that are trying just as hard as my pic at getting point just for more upvotes. What you are doing still counts as upvote begging since unlike just just to your friends and allies, you are showing to random nobodies, people that don't understand the system yet or far worse, blank accounts, by shooting at random you don't know who you are bugging and whether they should care.
By simply moving at random you make me not only sound like an upvote beggar, but also very desperate.
