Fact check of "Campus Reform"

"These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward conservative causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage conservative causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy"

I've read the actual article found in your link. Your media source, although biased to the right did have some facts correct and this has been helpful. Thank you.

1. I did not know that STEM fields grade more harshly than non-STEM fields, on average adjusted differences in grades is 0.3 lower for STEM fields.
2. Women care more about their grades, studying on average 45 min a week longer than men who study on average 2.75hrs.
3. Women enter STEM with higher overall grades then men
4. Women earn higher overall grades in STEM than men
5. Even given the above, women tend to drop out of STEM at overall higher rates than men

The women I've seen in STEM, outperform men like, ALWAYS.

This may be the most I've ever gotten from a meme!

By the way, I'm not sold on changing the grading system.

I agree with all of the above, as a scientist many of the women I worked with were beyond smart.
Fact is this: regardless of ideology, the article is correct that colleges cant recruit STEM females and this is a proposed approach. A silly approach, but given the ease of grades these days compared to when i was in college, consistent....

Couldn't they institute a program to make women aware of this problem w/ways to counter it? Then on the other hand what's a grade? It's a number. The idea just seems wrong though.

I remember my physics teacher. I called him the physics nazi. He was awful and his grading system sucked. Remember I got one 10pt problem right on a test but he only gave me 5pts because I used an equation from the text instead of one of his. Asked me where I found the formula. I was working so hard I was able to immediately tell him the page number because I knew it off the top of my head. It didn't matter. The grade stuck. Still think that guy was a dick but I did learn a lot.
