Guns are good

I can't get past that poor little girls screaming that her father was shot in the surveillance video. How do we prevent this from happening before someone needs to pull out yet another gun? That should be the focus, not finding excuses to enable people to hold on to their toys...

Until we treat/restrict the dangerously mentally ill before they strike, this will continue.

The NRA is not opposed to treatment or guardianships or for dangerously ill, secure treatment centers. But the left hates any restrictions on the mentally ill.

So why did the GOP Congress and Trump repeal the Obama rule which gave the National Background Check System the ability to access Social Security mental health disability benefit information to to limit their access to firearms? Rules about "dangerously ill" were already in place. After Sandy Hook Obama tried to make it harder for the mentally ill to purchase firearms and the Republicans rescinded the rule. Why?

3 words onion....red....flag....laws...From a party that thinks there are 58 gender, Mexicans are citizens and babies are germs, and they have already shown how they regularly use the FBI, media, medial profession and the CIA as a political weapon against their opponents......who would want THEM to decide who is sane?

By the way, red flag laws are about taking guns away, which is great and all. But they take too damn long. If someone is a danger to themselves or others, what good does it do if you have to go to court to petition a judge to take the guns away? Jeez, how long does that whole process take? 30, 60 days? At least? Meanwhile there's a crazy guy walking around with guns for months? The background checks make sure mentally ill aren't at least legally buying guns to begin with.

how's that working for ya in Chicago and Baltimore ? Guns banned there ....record gun deaths?....hmmm.....

It's already been decided if you're on disability. Multiple doctors have to weigh in, usually you've been 5150'd at least once. What's the point of background checks if there's no way to know if someone is mentally ill? A lot of crazy people are really good at pretending they're not.
