Local, isn't it? That's where the overwhelming point-of-access services are.

By definition, it should seem like it. But that's not the punchline of the meme.

Hide the Pain Harold Meme | WELL, THERE ARE THE ROADS AND TAP WATER AND EMERGENCY SERVICES. | image tagged in memes, hide the pain harold | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
But I guess it's easier to be an anarchist in the rural south.

1) Flat surfaces to walk / drive on have been around before taxes. And we as an advanced society can still learn how to make roads if government stops being involved in road repair. Which isn't saying a whole lot, depending on where you live.
2) I don't even live in a rural area in the south
3) I wouldn't mind voluntarily giving some money for emergency services. I just don't want government telling me how much I should have taken from my pay. If my local, state, national, and federal government are going to threaten me with jail time if I don't hand over a nearly a fifth of my annual salary, I should have at least autonomy as to where my salary should go.
4) Fun fact: I've actually been tested as a minarchist on spekr.

Yeah, and I did make a few assumptions. Sorry.
But also, how will the government provide for these services without an income?

No sweat. It's far too easy to make assumptions nowadays.

The problem isn't even 100% the fact that government provides services. It forces funding from citizens with a threat of jail time if you don't pay up, and a good majority of funding for government programs goes to bureaucratic functions (ex: 70% of anti-poverty funding is not actually used to help the poor). Another thing is that government services are typically poor compared to privatized companies or charities. This is all well and good, except forcing citizens to find these programs undermines competition a bit. If it's done too much, it'll eliminate competition, and drive prices of the service up, which means more money out of us wage-earners' income.

The government had an income the same way that businesses did; the people who used the service paid for it, and only those people. Nobody robbed Peter to pay Paul until the Democrats showed up.

But a lot of us do use government services, like roads.

But now everybody pays for them whether they use them or not. It's not like a business anymore, it's just robbery. Imagine if you had to give FedEx money even if you never mailed a package. Imagine if you had to give United Airlines money even if you never traveled. That's government.

But, then again, we do use a lot of things paid for by the government. Even like security and insurance, for example the police. And, even if we do have an armed and polite society, we still should have police. However, I can understand your point, and it is true to some degree. TV licenses for BBC, even if you don't watch it, have to be paid, and 10% of court cases in Britain is because of TV licenses not being paid. That's something which should stop.
