As long as there is a thing in existence that looses or fires a projectile that can cause death, you will not be happy. It is both dangerous and deadly which does not fit into your notion of your Utopian civilization.
Sure, when we're reduced to Muskets and Bows and Arrows, you will not at first openly complain; but the instant someone gets hurt, you think it's a tragic example. An example that is one too many.

Why else would you so blatantly ignore reason? This gun debate has been going on for how many years? Forty years, fifty years, and you still evidenced NO UNDERSTANDING of our views. The only compromise you've ever shown, is to turn down any measure that obviously looks like general gun confiscations and seizures, but little by little, inching towards that direction with every incident of mass shootings.
Knowing that words holds power (PC), you've changed or ignore the definition of "Assault Rifle" to mere, exterior features of, when the actual is a Select-Fire rifle.
When all those "Assault Rifles" are gone, and the numbers of death remains the same or rising, then guess what: you'll go for every semi-automatics as well. Because you've "finally realized" that the only way to stop mass shootings on a horrific scale, is to end the ownership of semi-automatic guns.
The day when someone uses a bolt-action hunting rifle to pick off victims at long ranges, you'll move against that too. You'll redefine it as a Sniper Weapon because it looks like it. You'll paint it as a weapon for a long range sniper-wannabe, who can appear out of the blue, kill unseen, and disappear at will. Therefore, you move against such ownership to save innocent lives.
Who needs those long range weapons anyways but to kill people when hunters for centuries used Muskets and Bows and Arrows to bring home dinner?
And when the same alternatives are used for the evil: "Who needs those weapons anyways? You can buy Vegan products!"
