One of the engineers I am working with is 22. She doesn't get almost all of my movie references. Makes me miss my wife even more

I get it. I am a 52 year old teacher at a community college. I used to make TV and movie references all the time in my lessons. I can't do it anymore. They all watch different things, so it's not just becuase I'm older than them.

I still share music with them. Often they are amazed at how much they like my “old” music after making fun of some of the names first.

It astonishes me how hard it is to communicate with young people anymore...and I'm not even that old...
