You've got a really good point there.
That point in history, was when the Dems screwed up.
They should have raised the question whether or not Bush and Cheney be taken to the Hague for war crimes. It was a valid question and the international community wanted them both.
Because they did not pursue this, it embolden the right to feel they were free to do as they pleased and look where we are now.
Before that time the right was a legitimate, respectable political party.
