I'm with Boma, it's the intentionally misspelled junk that irritates me. The boomer thing irritates me a bit because it seems to have become an all encompassing insult that young people lob at anyone that is older than they are and they disagree with, and it's a misuse of the actual word and origin of it. That said, I've learned to ignore it as it just demonstrates ignorance and immaturity by the person using it. While I don't really get the "oof" thing, it doesn't bother me.

Intentional misspelled words. Boi, Gae, any of that moronic crap.

I have ignored the boomer and snowflake successfully, but mostly because insults only hurt when there is a truth to them you don’t like.

"Insults only hurt when there is a truth to them you don’t like" I agree completely :) Although it's how childish and uninspired those kind of insults are that gets under my skin.

Well, this is off-topic a bit, but some people here have a tendency to write (on forums, FB etc.) with Latin letters (we use Cyrillic alphabet). For example, ''обичам те'' looks like ''obi4am te''. This is considered to be the worst thing ever and is often understood as a sign of disrespect to the reader and most people won't even try to read it. Replacing ч with 4, ш with 6 etc. is what infuriates me the most. :-)

Oh wow, that's really interesting. I could see why that would be an annoyance to you :)

One thing that pisses me off when somebody types Serbian in Latin alphabet is when they type š (ш) as 'sh', or č (ч) as 'ch' etc. So, for example, 'šalim se' would be written as 'shalim se' ('salim se' is acceptable by pretty much everyone).

Does Serbian use both Latin and Cyrillic alphabets?

Yeah. Both Ћирилица and Latinica. On the internet, pretty much everyone writes with the Latin alphabet, except for the nationalists who wish to, as the say, preserve the Cyrillic alphabet. In other situations, written documents, memorials and stuff in general intended for the Serbian people (public institutions, TV channels, local brands etc) use the Cyrillic, while everything else (restaurants, bars etc) use the Latin alphabet. Tourist attractions and roadsigns use both at the same time, so everyone can understand what is said.

There is slang from the local YouTube scene which pisses me off. For example, in Serbian, the word for 'brother' is 'brat' (short A). But some of the local YouTubers started using the term 'braca' (pronounced 'bratsa' with a long A instead of short A), and they try to pronounce the long A as irritating and annoying as possible. And aince moast of my generationmen follow trends like the sheep follow the shepherd, they started saying braca as well.

Yeah, it's mad how fast these things catch on. If it wasn't funny the first time someone said it, why would it be funny the millionth time around ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
[deleted]
2 ups, 5y
Haha, exactly. But they pronounce it like 'braaaaca', not 'bracaaaa'. The latter would probably annoying even for them.
