We no longer know what Arguing and Debating means anymore; instead, we equate both with contentiousness as we contend, fight, and bicker in a manner unbecoming a civilized people.
So we attack our opponent, we belittle them, we are fallacious in our resoning, and we shout over them, and when they've made silent, we think we've won it.
No we didn't, but only surpressed them as they leave in frustration. And the next argument will be more contentious than before.
In actuality, to argue is to reason.
Argumentation is a systematic form of reasoning which includes
- A Claim/Premise
- Supporting Evidence
- Conclusion
But Proper argumentation however is void of Argumentative Fallacies which makes arguing a waste of time.
The most common mistakes are:
- Ad Hominem
- Appeal to Authority
- False Dichotomy
- Appeal to Ignorance
- To Quo Que

Lastly, while debating is about winning, it is also about solving the problem.
For example, what is a better way to fix the mental health issue? Is it:
A) Create more Sanitariums?
B) Fund research in medications to treat or cure common issues such as Schitzophrenia or Clinical Depression
C) Eliminate GMO foods that might have been the cause of Autism in the first place
D) Some or All of the Above
But solutions cannot be had, if we're too busy attacking each other.
