Boomers could work a part time job and afford rent, a car and entertainment while also going to college. Or....graduate high school and get a job making enough money to actually live fairly well.
Their parents were depression era kids so doing better than them isn’t a huge accomplishment given the economic boom post ww2.
The millennials have an issue with boomers because boomers are now the ones that have a lot to say about how bad the young kids are, etc. while never facing even remotely the same set of circumstances the kids face now. I’m actually glad I’m an Xer. I just sit here watching the back and forth and have to hope my 401k and investments grow so I have a retirement. But at least I have the means to save the money in the first place.
