If Bruce Springsteen tried to make it on American Idol

I haven't looked deep in his work. I like a wide range. Dylan etc But he's always seemed so boring. I've never heard anything I'd want to hear again.

Yeah, not a big fan. Though I have to admit that Bruce is still a good songwriter and musician. (I’m not crazy about the lyrics in that song I made fun of, though).
That being said, I think his singing is awful. I would really love to see Simon’s reaction to his singing.😆.

Yes, he's talented but nothing grabs me. Dylan was terrible too but his had character. Maybe it was a rhythmic thing as well.

I agree. Neil young’s another one for me. They all came out at a time when rock was still new, so songwriting and emotion trumped singing talent. Now it seems, anything goes. Anybody backed by enough money and studio tricks can get famous...

Now there's autotune. True, Hendrix wasn't great but he could sell it. The shame is that there are alot of great guitarists out there. What was the last great rock song?

That’s too hard to say, because then there came hard rock and heavy metal with lots of good songs. I think, though he didn’t have the greatest voice either, that Tom Petty was one of the last great rock artists.

It would be a no for me also. I agree with all the people mentioned here but they all had one thing in common they all recorded a Dylan song he was a so - so singer but a great poet.
