Huge Wyatt Earp fan. I tried to watch it but it is overly dramatic. Compared to the "Wyatt Earp" with Kevin Costner, it's garbage. Lol. Maybe I need to give it another chance but I think Kevin captured the calm, cool and collectedness of Wyatt Earp... not the asshat in Tombstone who ran out into the rain after Morgan was shot during billards screaming, "WHY?!".

That's just the sophistication of plumbers for ya 😉😘

Alright, I'll give you style points for that one, lol! Although to be fair, the movies are entirely different to me. Other than having the same main characters and general storyline, I'd say tombstone is more of an entertainment western whereas wyatt earp was more of a western drama. They did do a better job of conveying the dark side of what was going on, especially with his wife and the laudanum and the scene at the beginning with the slaughter on the homestead. I was still a young pup when tombstone was out, so the more cowboys and Indians feel held my attention longer. Both are great, in completely separate ways.

I think I would feel the same way had I seen it as a kid so I get what you're saying. Stuart Lake was an insufferable fool that not only had a chance to sit down with the legend himself in the later years of Wyatt's life but also an opportunity to capture in verbatim all the stories Wyatt told and to set the record straight. The almighty dollar spoke louder to him than justice and he embellished so much of the book.

Unfortunately, my dad has long passed away and he's who inspired my admiration of Earp and Abe Lincoln. I cannot remember the year that dad visited boot hill but he met a frail old man that struck up a conversation with my dad. My dad asked who he was and how he knew so much about Wyatt. The man said his name was Merritt Beeson. Chalk Beeson was his dad. Chalk Beeson served as a sheriff for Ford County Kansas. Merritt described Wyatt as a very quiet man and extremely smart.

I still remember dad's excitement wherever he recalled that chance meeting.

He also met a man who knew Abraham Lincoln personally but for the life of me I cannot remember who the man was and how he knew Abe.

That brings up another hilarious story..... stand by
