Trump: They have the server, right, from the DNC, Democratic National Committee. The FBI went in and they told them, get out of here, we're not giving it to you. They gave the server to CrowdStrike or whatever it's called, which is a country — which is a company owned by a very wealthy Ukrainian. And I still want to see that server. You know, the FBI's never gotten that server. That's a big part of this whole thing. Why did they give it to a Ukrainian company?

Steve Doocy: Are you sure they did that? Are you sure they gave it to Ukraine?

Trump: Well, that's what the word is. That's what I asked, actually, in my phone call. I mean, I asked it very point-blank, because we're looking for corruption. There's tremendous corruption. Why should we be giving hundreds of millions of dollars to countries when there's this kind of corruption?

So you prove no admittance to a quid pro quo.

I get that it's hard because you believe the world is a specific way and you want to reject anything that says that view is incorrect.

But right there Trump says that he brought up a 2016 issue on the phone call. Specificaly the bogus idea that the DNC "gave" a server to Crowdstrike and that company is some how Ukrainian and is hiding it in the Ukraine.

Then even dumb old Doocey starts waving red flags and flashing warning signs with that "are you sure you did that? ARE YOU SURE?!?"

And then he says " Why should we be giving hundreds of millions of dollars to countries when there's this kind of corruption?"

That's it. Right there.

LOl, thanks for further proving the quid pro quo is in your head and not what Trump said. Bonus points for the ironic opening line. It's a reasonable interpretation to say Trump meant, if Ukraine is corrupt enough to actually have the server, then they are too corrupt to have the money, but you transplanted the context of the statement to manufacture something not said.
