Manning served time for her crimes. I think she should have served more. But, she was manipulated by Assange, I guess. She served about one third of her sentence. I would have had her serve every day. The argument was that her suicide attempts revealed underlying issues. I have known thousands of mentally ill Veterans who did not turn on their country. Bergdahl should have failed his induction physical, because of personality disorders. But, he put lives at risk by his misadventure. I think he got off easy. But, it was a fair, military trial. Snowden should rot in Russia. Short of that, if he comes back, throw the book at him. I have served my fellow Veterans for 30 years before retiring. I have known so many of them who suffer daily from the wounds of war, and do so in silence. They cover the Amercian demographic. They are all races, sexes, political leanings, and even some were gender transitioning. None of them turned their backs on their country or violated the rules in ways that diminishes the valor of those with whom they served. The late Pam Murphy, Audie Murphy's widow, worked for me. He had many challenges throughout his life and stayed true to his country. He would never support someone who dishonored his uniform, and was my hero. I worked for Everett Alvarex, the longest held POW in the Vietnam War. He was punished every day by his captors for being their enemy. He never turned his back on his country or his fellow POWs. He never dishonored them. He is my hero. CPO Gallagher dishonored perhaps the most disciplined and effective organization in our active services, by his actions. He is not as bad as Snowden, Bergdahl or Manning. But, if you see him as a hero you must defend by smearing me, I am happy to take your puny effort.
