Serious question guys. Let's talk about oranges.

According to the internet, the word 'orange' originated from old French name "Pomme d'Orenge", which itself was derived the Arabic word for the fruit, "Naranj".

I'd say the color was named after the fruit, at least for the English language. Wikipedia agrees with me too, but we all know how 100% reliable their sources are.

But I chickened out seeing as it might be seen as too political for the hallowed Think tank, lol. Yea I trust wiki as much as I trust my 4 year old who thinks he's the expert on everything; )

I totally think that's what happened with black berries and blue berries. Like is that the best ya got? Lol

But what about blue berries? The skins are blue, insides are green, and mashed theyre purple!

Lime green
Banana yellow
Orange

If I remember correctly, the color was named after the fruit. Before that, it was called red-yellow or something like that. And it makes sense since, as far as I know, orange does not grow naturally (as in without the use of any agricultural techniques or tools) in any of the Germanic-speaking lands.
