Accidents happen. I have video of my ship doing a weapons offload at sea to transfer a guided missile from my ship to another where the helicopter pilot did not lift the very large and heavy missile straight up then fly sideways, but instead dragged it across the forecastle, missing the gunwhale. The missile was in an unloading carrier frame which mated to our launch system.. and apparently suffered no damage.
