Then he should have asked the DoJ to request the State Department conduct the investigation through our embassy in the Ukraine. THAT would have been investigating corruption in cooperation with a foreign government; that's the legal way to do what Trump says he was trying to do. Rudy Giuliani does not conduct foreign policy. At all.

It's a piss poor defense because it still renders his action a crime. Deal with it.

Except....we have a treaty with Ukraine to investigate crimes.

Have a nice day :)

Yes, through the embassy! Not through shitty lawyers!

You JUST said it was in the treaty. Violating a treaty is against international law and violating the Constitution is against federal law. Crimes up the wazoo. Deal with it.

It doesn't violate the treaty though. You should read it, it's super fun to know what you're talking about.

Rudy Giuliani does not conduct foreign policy! That is just basic stuff. You CANNOT honestly think that Trump did nothing wrong - you just think that Trump SHOULD be allowed to commit crimes because you're interested in the effects that the crimes would have, but this is open and shut and that is why this is going to happen with support of Congress from both sides.

You have no choice but to watch it go down. Denial is not an option.

There is a reason NONE of the democrats want to even MENTION this treaty....what do you suppose that reason is?

The government hires outside council ALL THE TIME. Rudy dealing directly with Ukraine is actually kind of an insult. He's become an errand boy, a courier. Any evidence he receives will be turned over to the DOJ.

There is no stipulation in the treaty that specifies that any particular agency or office is responsible for communications. Yes, I'm going to watch it go down, and by it I mean the "impeachment" sham, and by down I mean, down the toilet - with your hopes and dreams.

The hell are you talking about? The fact that we have a treaty for exactly this purpose is mentioned in every analysis on the subject I've seen. It hurts Trump's case, not fixes it.

And no. Foreign policy is not handled by private council. That would lead to all kinds of unconstitutional shenanigans. The law is very clear on that.

Retrieving evidence from a foreign investigation is not foreign policy. Where the hell did you come up with that nonsense?

You should really read the treaty. Not one single thing you've said is contained within the treaty, it's like you're just making shit up.

Yeah yeah....there's no method prescribed in the treaty, so they should definitely do it your way.... Anything to impeach, no perceived infraction is too small.

DoJ, State Department, embassy, their law enforcement. That's what you're supposed to do. That's the way it's ALWAYS done.

"Trump's an idiot, you can't elect him... vote for the sold out warmonger who sold foreign favor through the Clinton foundation!!!!"

You idiots should have put up a respectable candidate. Even Bernie got f**ked, tho THAT corruption you libs ignore.

You had like twenty candidates, all of whom had Statesmanship 101 on their resumes. I didn't pick the barely literate one who writes diplomatic communications the same way he writes a 4am Twitter rant - you did. Do not pin this on the alternatives: you chose the dumbass out of a field of well over a dozen. And you chose it because you thought that this was an advantage to you.

The events that are unfolding right now are the exact reason this was a mistake: it's a disadvantage, and a huge one. You cannot blame Hillary for this. You cannot blame the libs for this. You have nobody to blame but the obsession you had for the dumbest guy in the room.

Actually, all knowing lib, I wanted to see Ben Carson become president. I think he's a good man, probably too good for politics but regardless. Also would have been a blast to watch you feral shitlibs call a brain surgeon an idiot. Like, more than you did.

But I chose Trump because it was an advantage to me... hmmm... OH! I get it, because I'm a three toothed racist red neck hillbilly in love with my sister who spits on Mexicans and wants kids in cages. F**k off, warmonger. At least Trump hasn't started new wars.

Yeah, I remember. You joined pretty much right when Carson dropped out. But you didn't then go for the most qualified peace-loving diplomat - in a field with literal former diplomats as options - did you? You went for the one who was "not a politician".

Well, this is why you at least need someone with a professional knowledge of civics.
