It’s been years ago, but it was a revolver of some type. (I have no idea about the types of guns.)

Not sure what type of rifle but it had a good kick when I fired it at 10 years old. I tried skeet shooting with my old man once. Grew up with redneck friends who hunted all the time, carried deer in their pickup trucks and laid them on the kitchen table to make jerkey. Never got the hang of hunting myself though it's probably a good skill to have. I'd like to try a hand gun. Hope to get a license some day.

I hope you don't need a license some day...the right to bear arms is meant to deter tyranny among other things, and if you're required to hold a license then the government already knows you have one. But, that's a whole other story and conversation.

Deer jerky is a wonderful thing...mmm. Most rifles (other than rimfire) would most likely feel pretty kicky to a 10 year old, try it again someday, it's a great past time.

Well I mostly meant a hunting license. Don't you need one to hunt where you are? Most places require them even to fish.
1 up, 5y
Hunting license, yes. Gun license, no. There are some places that require permits to even own guns, that is what I thought you meant.

I was trained by the NRA. Does that count? (seriously! Back when it was about gun safety and conservation)

I have a Mossberg 500, very similar, and both shoot very well. There's just something about a pump shotgun that feels awesome.

I always thought a Remington was a pump shotgun

The 870 is a pump shotgun, you're right. Remington as a brand makes many different kinds though.

Lol! Cleaning guns is actually sort of therapeutic to me, I just dont have time any more. For your pistol grip shotgun, ever seen those spring loaded grips you can add on? Takes the recoil way down like a shock absorber, I've shot a pistol grip shotgun before one handed with one of those, you should check it out.

I'd love to have a .308 for hunting, i currently have a .270 and it's just too high powered for where i hunt as i only get 20 to 40 yard shots, but theres a lot of brush so a heavier bullet would be nice. Leupold is boss, i have one on my current rifle and its awesome.

I remember a while back you said your stuff got stolen, i was pissed FOR you man, i cant stand a thief.

I have a couple of .22 rifles, a .270 weatherby vanguard, a SIG P229 9mm, S&W airweight .38 special +P, 12GA mossberg 500, double barrel .410 Stevens, walther P22, Owl Head .32 short, 20GA white powder wonder single shot, .45 caliber black powder muzzle loader, and built an AR-15 a couple years ago. It was a palmetto state armory upper and lower housing with floated barrel, cmmg build kit and furniture, and a Daniel Defense bolt carrier group. I love that thing, just dont get to shoot it much.

Maybe just dont move back to California, you'll have better rights with your guns...BTW, which one do you keep beneath the seat? I know you gotta have something there while you're on the road... ;)

SIG P229 is one of my faves, fits my hand like a glove...we have options for full auto at a couple of ranges around here, I'd love to try it sometime :) suppressor would be great for squirrels...

That sounds awesome, FN makes some cool stuff. Yeah I'm trying to imagine a 5.7x28 round, that would be like a necked down overpowered .22 magnum, if that's even a fair comparison but that's where my mind went. Sounds fun.

I believe your comment easily disproves the "leftists want to take away our guns" rhetoric.

Also, I hope the guy(s) who stole you ammo gets what he deserves. The dishonor among some people...

And by the way (and I meant to ask this a long time ago, but I always forget), what happened to KenJ? He just stopped posting all of a sudden. Him and you were close, as far as I can tell, so I guess you have the best idea of what happened to him. I'd ask Evilmandoevil, but he stopped poating as well.

L1A1 SLR (FN FaL)
Bren LMG
SA80 (GP version)
Numerous .22 rifles
All the above as a army cadet many decades ago.

I would love to shoot the Russian Cold War era Dragunov sniper rifle (over distance with original sights)

Peace.

I was gonna say, you must be military to have gotten your hands on those. I'd love to take em' for a spin. Dragunov...yessss...

The very first time I ever shot a gun was literally a pump action shotgun my grandfather had in his trunk. Then, we shot out of a russian tt pistol. We do that every year

SKS , 20 gauge and 12 gauge shotguns, 9mm and .22 cal pistols and a .22 rifle. I currently don't own any guns and have no intention of buying one, but I enjoy plinking. I also allow people to hunt my acreage.

That said, if push came to shove I would vote to end the second amendment if the current all or nothing types keep blocking sensible gun laws. I don't want my granddaughters having to do active shooter drills at their schools. Especially when I went to school when most of the kids had shotguns or rifles in the back windows of their trucks during hunting season and no one blinked an eye.

Nice repertoire, I've shot all those as well, fun stuff. I don't have an SKS, but I've thought about it on occasion since they're so cheap.

The mass shooting events happening these days are terrible, but I'll keep my second amendment. Sensible gun control, yes...

It really is that simple. It's too bad the fringe gun nuts are trying so hard to ruin it for everyone else.

I can buy a gun from any Joe on craigslist right now, but if I buy a gun online I have to make the transaction via an FFL dealer so it's documented...costs $30 or so. I wouldn't mind something like that, and banning bump stocks is good by me after Vegas. But licensing goes too far IMO. None of it will stop criminals from getting them, but the criminals aren't necessarily the high profile mass shooting people either, it's the closet cases that no one seems to know about. It's a complex issue.

Can't stop criminals so don't try. Got it.
1 up, 5y,

Well, I wouldn't say dont try, but incurring restrictions on law abiding people wont stop criminals no. I'm saying enforce current laws or make new ones targeted at criminal activity (not law abiding) and track down illegal activity more efficiently, put resources towards that. Make penalties harsher to deter crime.

Want to guess were most guns used in crimes in states with stricter gun laws come from? Hint: from states with little or no guns laws.

If you are law abiding, tougher gun laws shouldn’t effect you.

But most mass shooters aren’t known criminals. They are angry men that are told every day they are coming to get you, mostly to sell more guns. Now I don’t fear a criminal with a gun. I fear an angry white man with an arsenal in a crowd.

It turns a semi into a fully auto, fun aside is it necessary? I think body count could have been reduced had the guy not had that capability.

Another thing. I fired an AR-15 once. Being left handed, the shell went right down my shirt. I never fired one again.
2 ups, 5y
I built an AR about 2 years ago, you can get left handed ones but they're not as common. Fun to shoot though.

I have a SIG P229 that's actually pretty fun to clean, all the rest are a pain in the ass. Only thing about an SKS is the mag is integral so manual loading is a must, but doesnt take away from the fun :) great gun altogether really
