not necessarily because there are some people who are nice and wouldnt use their gun and some people arent. the number of guns owned by people is not a direct cause for violence to go down, i think it might be more about video games actually

Actually, more guns does reduce crime. The evidence is overwhelming. Another (of many) example: If you break the numbers down. Look at it state by state, then county by county. The areas with the most CCW (concealed carry permits) have larger reductions in crime. Video game participation in Japan is way higher than any other country in the world. No unusual violence issues there. It's easy to sit in a chair and say things that make sense to yourself. Honest research takes work.

250 mass shootings. That's called "gang violence." Crime has gone down everywhere in the country with exception to a few cities. Saying Video games prevent violence is as ridiculous as saying it causes violence. Before video games we played cowboys and indians...and cops and robbers with our plastic guns. So, in that sense, "video games" have been around since the dawn of time. Read my next comment.

Look into what started the "Conceal Carry Wave" back in the 90s. It started in my state, so i witnessed it first hand. I was 20 at the time...and saw it all unflod day by day on the news. Florida had a rash of people shooting people for sport. They would walk up...shoot you...then take your money. As an emergency measure...the governor authorized to issue all citizens with no criminal history a CCW permit. Guess what happened very quickly. They started targeting tourists from foreign countries (a lot of Germans for some reason). So the governor authorized CCW to be issued to anyone who comes to our state...even from other countries. It reduced violent crime so much...the Conceal Carry wave swept the nation. Governor after governor. Thus we have the Meme above.

You do realize we have background checks right? It's already a law...you can't buy a gun without a background check. You also realize there is a huge black market for guns. This call for background checks is idiotic. Because we already do background checks.

They have heavy gun restrictions in Japan, they're also an island with very little diversity. The top 20 safest cities in the US all allow conceal carry of firearms...and many don't even require you to get a licence. The most dangerous cities have the most firearm restrictions. Chicago is a perfect example.
