You should know, wind energy is kinda free for example.

May I offer a little education on wind energy? The wind turbine costs between 1 and 2 million to build, then you have transportation to the erection site, site preparation, erection costs, transmission line installation, maintenance costs - you think your going to get free energy supplied to you after those expenses? One unit will power only about 400 average households

Now I'll debunk the "green energy" myth" - say a wind farm powers your city with "free", "clean", "renewable" energy. While wind farms are erected in areas with a consistent level of wind flow, wind is not constant. When the wind slows or stops the energy supply drops and would cause a brown out or black out EXCEPT (little known secret) a fossil fuel powered electric plant is kept operating at full capacity to keep the energy supply steady. No emissions savings whatsoever.

And what happens to all that electricity generated by the fossil fuel plant when the wind is holding its own? Its sent over high power transmission lines and sold to Canada, Mexico, or another state.

It's a charade, a ruse, if you'll pardon the pun, a smoke screen.

P.S. It's okay if you laughed at the multiple uses of the word erection. :D

I believe you are looking this topic in a traditional way. What I'm thinking is that the wind technology we know is simply not the best. We need to improve it, that's the point. If a big distribution is not good, then there are other ways. You don't need to build a large scale generator if something similar already exists. Gravity is also a constant force we are not using. With the exact amount of engineering, knowledge of physics and materials surely we'll be able to harvest the energy we need. And that will not cost millions.

Want a solution? Turn off your computer, go to bed when it's dark, walk every where and you'll do more to address "clean" energy than rhetoric and throwing millions of dollars at a non issue. There is no magic energy source. And you gotta ask yourself - why would the current fuel barons support and implement an energy source that puts the trillions they have invested in extraction, storage, transmission, etc. to waste? Cease mining and drilling their valuable and useful commodities to go "solar", "wind", "nuclear", "hydro", or whatever? Short answer is they won't. A man with billions of dollars isn't going to trade "environmental concerns" at the expense of his corporate or personal wealth.

The brave new world generation you think?

Climate changing is real, would be retarded keep arguing about it. Even if it wasn't for real, being considerate towards your home isn't wrong.

For 5,000 years prognosticators have been proclaiming "the end is nigh". 5,000 years later the world is still here. No one disputes climate change what is in dispute is that it is attributable to man and a natural process can be stopped.

Disagree? Yes you do, so answer this:

What caused the ice age? Answer that, then explain what caused the global warming that melted the ice back so mankind could flourish. No cow farts, cars, and factories to pin it on. When you solve that riddle you'll solve why the earth is warming now.

You are missing the time factor. That's the alarming point of this topic. It takes ages! Not 200 years. Humans are not the cause but the calculation includes the unbalancing effect they do. And that is a big deal. You simply don't think about the butterfly effect but it's there. Let's talk about deforestation and desertification. You honestly think that won't affect temperature? Less oxygen and more co2? agriculture is a big deal too in the long run. About the emissions not just cars but the whole now existing and already dismantled human activity that made pollution that's still around is to calculate. You believe we are not the cause of climate change, and I do agree honestly but if someone tells you it's not important because that's just weather, I have to strongly disagree. Human activity is being disruptive since the industrial revolution. Sorry to make you read these long posts, I just really care.

The earth goes through cycles of hot and cold similar to the summer and winter seasons - hotter than blazes for a while, cold and frozen for a while. There is nothing that you, I, anyone, any government, or any group can do about that - no matter how much they care.

Other than caring and spewing rhetoric I see no real action being taken by those same individuals. No trees planted, still driving cars, still buying synthetics produced with fossil fuels in fossil fuel powered factories, still producing large volumes of trash, still recycling (which does nothing to help the environment), still consuming electricity to power lights, computers, cell phones, still drinking the kool aid of fear being put forth by doomsayers.

You are being conditioned and terrorized by the eco-prophets to surrender your ever diminishing freedom in exchange for "salvation". Division completed, conquering to follow.

What do you mean by selling freedom? If we don't make an effort as a whole we can't get much done. However people selling oil as stated above are obliged to pass to renewable energy, this generation is very eco-friendly so it would be bad marketing keeping proposing fossil oil products, they would be seen as old and antiquated, producers care about brand name and what it represents. At least, as a costumer, I wouldn't buy a nice car from a company that gives nothing about the environment, so if they want my money I need proof that they actively do something good.
1 up, 5y
You'll find out, comrade.

However, before I listen to another word out of you I need proof you are practicing what you preach. I mean, why would you buy a car - period?

Giving money to environmental causes results in zero for mother nature but some guy in birkenstocks is getting rich jetting around the world to incite demonstrations" on behalf of the environment to keep the donations rolling in.

What are you actively doing to combat climate change?

What evidence are you using to confirm disastrous climate change being caused by humans?

:D

You do realize most of the CO2 that cleans the environment comes from Ocean algae right? I mean Trees compose less than 1% of that cleaning service. (Read more complain less.)
