Except they don’t even understand anything about sex. Kids should be taught about sex as early as is possible, so that they can understand how wrong child beauty pageants are.

Gone are the innocent days when sex conversations were taboo for young kids. If the parents don't tell them first, schools will, and parents will more than likely not like it.

All I care is that kids learn one way or another. Maybe showing heterosexual porn to them is the most neutral way, so that they can decide for themselves which sex acts are immoral.

I'll say no, because there are pageants around with age-appropriate themes. Granted, they don't have the appealing networking that glam pageants have, but the pressure is not as strong, and kids are allowed to be kids. I do believe parents should refrain from putting their kids in seductive / suggestive outfits and parade them under the guise of "beauty." Key word: parents. The same could be said of dance and cheer teams.

I would love to see less sexualizing of these children. I feel that the cosmetics are too much. Though I understand a certain amount of make up is needed to prevent the face from being washed out by bright stage lights. I feel they could do with several layers less of much of the make up.

Young people have way to many issues with self confidence these days as it is, teaching them they should improve their looks at such a young age only furthers the development of mental issues and robs them of innocence that already flies away too fast.
