I would get a Charmander first. and later in my carrier catch a galarian Zigzagoon. battle with those two against brock (rock gym). catch a Rioulu. then evolve my first two into their second form. battle misty(water gym). battle lt.surge catch a lavartar. evolve it into tyranitar before the next gym. evolve riolu into Lucario and linoone into obstagoon. then battle the next two gyms (grass-poison). somewhere in the middle catch a Magikarp. evolve it into Gyarados. battle Sabrina. (psychic gym) catch a rockruff evolve it into midnight form. then evolve charmeleon into Charizard. defeat Blaine. (fire) get a Lucario mega stone (somehow) defeat Giovanni. and become a pokemon master. end of the story.
