The earlier English dubs did have a lot of things censored, especially Master Roshi's pervy antics. There are some newer English dubs that do have most of that intact though. Vic Mignogna has been falsely accused of rape, pedophilia and to a lesser extent homophobia and anti semitism. The homophobia allegation started when he used to sign this one fans yaoi fan art, the sexual allegations were in part due to Mignogna hugging some of his fans at conventions. The main motivations for his then coworkers to level these allegations against him are a mix of jealousy with him being one of the most popular voice actors out there and him seeing a massive upsurge in popularity after the theatrical success of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, and them simply hating him for being a Christian.

I remember I had to watch all the movies and GT in Japanese at the time. Think was looking to see if AF was real, can't imagine what season they'd be on now

Haven't seen the show in 15yrs or more but I remember even then, how many broly movies can they make lol.

The crazy things is just when you think it can't get anymore nuts it totally does. Dragon Ball has seen a major comeback in recent years thanks to the Dragon Ball Super anime which takes place after Z, but before GT (and also retcons GT a bit). The movie I mentioned Dragon Ball Super: Broly was a movie released in theaters last January and became one of the most successful anime movies ever released theatrically. It was not long after that movie released that this controversy started. The movie itself is a retcon of the Broly character as the previous Broly movies were never really considered cannon, but this one is.

The movie also goes into detail about Goku's father Bardock with the recent Dragon Ball Minus manga being one of the main sources it drew from, making this version of Bardock quite a bit different from the Bardock the Father of Goku special. Dragon Ball Super is a fairly decent anime and the movie is quite awesome. Dragon Ball Super isn't currently airing new episodes (at least in Japan), but the manga and without spoiling anything some really crazy stuff is going down in the current manga arc. Lets just say the current manga arc villain cannot be beaten by brute force alone.
