I literally copied it from BibleGateway. I'm guessing "traditions" has a bit more of an archaic connotation, which can be seen as a no-no among today's generations.
Either way, I don't feel that English fully does the Bible justice. ^_^
I agree, my cousin learned Greek and Hebrew just so he could read it in the original languages. As languages go English is probably one of the most limited in expressing divine truths. It can be frustrating for sure.
