Problem with your post is circumcision is typically done without the consent of the person receiving it. Hardly self is it. As to the rest, you left off tattoos.

Altering the body like this never was my thing, but who I am to say no to others?

I'm not sure I get this post for the reason you state above. Foot binding is also done on girls at a very young age so not really self inflicted.

I don’t much about foot binding beyond the heritage in Japan, so I left that out of my example.

Circumcision is normally perform as a baby. Hard to have a say in it when you don’t know how to talk yet.

That was the biggest dillema I had while making this image, whether to say mutilation or self-mutilation. Piercings, lip plates and earrings most certainly are self-mutilation. Others may or may not be.

I also considered whether to include tatoos or not. In the end, I didn't because to me, exposing your skin to some infections does not sound like as much of an injury like deforming one's skull, cutting one's foreskin or putting a piece of metal through one's flesh.

I don't have a problem if people do these things to themselves, either. Their choice, not mine. I'm just calling these practices what they really are.

Kidding, of course. I kind of agree w/ you, I guess, when the tattoos & stuff are done to excess. I used to like tattoo's & piercings. Glad I only got one tattoo, though and that it doesn't show with a shirt on. It's pretty rough, I was 14 (I know, smh...) & my buddy rigged up a gun out of stuff around the house. Don't wear any piercings any more. The foot binding hurts me something awful, but I'm so proud of my dainty little feet.

like for me, do whatever you want with your body as long has it does not have a negative impact on you

basically anything that doesnt harm you (mentally, physically, spirtually etc) i wont call it self mutilation.
