He wasn’t planning a mass shooting but declaring intent to respond with violence if Antifa decided to become violent: “In July, Shane Kohfield threatened to kill antifa members who he feared would take up arms against right-wing activists...”If antifa gets to the point where they start killing us, I’m going to kill them next," Kohfield said outside of Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler's home...Kohfield told the Oregonian he understood why he was taken to a local hospital and prohibited from attending the protests, but he insisted he did not plan to harm anyone.” He was even reasonable in his response to being monitored and having his guns temporarily removed. If he was planning a mass shooting, he’d have been charged with a crime and his guns would have been permanently removed.

I happen to have worked for the VA for 30-years. One of my first jobs was Administrative Officer of the Day, the off hours director of a VA Hospital. Many Veterans were brought to the hospital by the police. The police had them under arrest, in order to transport them to the hospital. That is the first step. At the hospital, they can see a psychiatrist who will evaluate them for an involuntary hold. Even if he is cooperative, and not resisting he might be placed on a hold. If there is reason to think that he has a "plan," to kill others (as he publicly stated he did) he would be a candidate for a 72-hour hold. If he was kept for 20-days, the VA no longer operates unlocked units, his issues appear to have been substantial. The VA does not simply keep people hospitalized who are having a bad day. If the VA kept him for 20-days, it shows that the Red Flag law that keeps mentally unstable people from being in possession of weapons, was a good choice for the FBI to use as the authority to take him into custody--arrest him--as was noted in most news stories.

As I’ve pointed out numerous times he was not arrested, not charged, weapons only temporarily confiscated...and you are not able to quote a single article describing it otherwise. Your life experience and opinion do not change that, but...COOL STORY BRO!

The FBI cannot "commit," someone to a VA Medical Center, only a court can do that. But, commit is shorthand many journalists use to describe the process I outlined. The FBI arrested him, but did not "charge," him. Instead, they used the provisions of the Red Flag law to take him into custory and transport him to the VA in Portland, where he was placed on a 72-hour hold, in lieu of jail. Here is a story, from a source I hope you trust, which relays the details: https://www.lawenforcementtoday.com/marine-said-hed-destroy-antifa-so-the-fbi-took-away-his-weapons-under-oregons-red-flag-law/

At no time was Kohfield ever taken into custody or arrested. Even the article you attached in no way described or even inferred arrest or custody. You are pulling this straight out of your own imagination. NO WHERE IN THE MANY, MANY ARTICLES YOU AND I HAVE READ REGARDING THIS STORY DOES IT DESCRIBE HIS ARREST OR CUSTODY, BECAUSE NEITHER HAPPENED.

Here is the interpretation of what an "arrest," is, from a law enforcement perspective: "An arrest occurs when police officers take a suspect into custody. An arrest is complete as soon as the suspect is no longer free to walk away from the arresting police officer, a moment that often comes well before the suspect actually arrives at a jail." This guy was never charged with a crime requiring his arrest. Instead, the Court order that took his guns away also required his commitment. I found this in a report by the local Fox news. When the FBI went to enforce the provisions of the order this guy was arrested. This is what is commonly referred to as "protective custody." But, it is still an arrest, regardless of your games and silly memes. Now, be a good little Trumpette and go troll someone else.

You are wonderful at making up sh*t aren’t you, to serve your narrative. All the reports clearly state the FBI went to his house days later only to temporarily confiscated weapons; no arrest, no custody. Then you make up BS about a local report, how effing hilarious that “local” report is not linked and nowhere to be found on the net. Now go be a conforming little libtard and compose more made crap that never existed just to suit your delusional imagination.

FBI has already confirmed no crime was committed, and his weapons were only temporarily confiscated. You do realize he wasn’t even arrested, this matter has already been settled.

He was not arrested. Find me one article explaining his “arrest”, you can’t. He was never in custody, but and I quote, “admitted to a veterans hospital in Portland and spent 20 days there.”

Yes, I read that too. Doesn’t change the fact that he did not plan a mass shooting, was not arrested, was not charged with a crime and his weapons were only temporarily seized.
