i dunno. that article seems to suggest that the only way to maintain healthy economics is to keep having increased population growth. but that's obviously not going to work with limited resources. there may be bumps along the way, but the short term solution has to be stabilization of population.

The only way to maintain a growing market is by maintaining a growing market - that's dependent on demand.

Not only that, but with aging populations in the America and Europe with a declining work force to collect tax revenue from, guess who's going to pay their entitlement bills? Immigrants, at numbers that would find today's insufficient - illegals included. They couldn't build enough escalators over Trump's precious wall to get enough here to change senile yuppie diapers and pay their Social Security.

since it's not possible to maintain a growing market indefinitely, we'll need to stabilize it instead. increasing immigration isn't consistent with stabilization in the long run, so let's avoid that. looks like my entitlement won't be nearly as much as i'd hoped. now compiling recipes based on a rice diet...

Surrrrrrrrrrrrrre, just tell everyone to stop breeding and to plan on doing with less because one day it will all run out, and they will be happy to oblige. Best will be corprations, because profit margins are just sooooooooo overrated. They'll probably be giddy to tell people with their ads not to buy so that 50 years from now someone can buy their corn syrup soda instead.

Rice takes a lot of water to grow, and with the Ogallala Aquifer set to run dry, most of the world will not have enough to eat in half a century. Everyone's going to die anyways, the heck they care about what happens 20 years from now.

Myself? I decided not to have my own kids after someone explained to me what that dark toned child on the cover of National Geographic had such a big belly.
Not sure how old I was, but remembering where I lived at the time, this was at 5 years the oldest.
