Can you see anyone else in that role? When I was young, I disliked him because of Blue Thunder but I was young and stupid. I still need to see If....

I like the 'singing in the rain' story. Wasn't a nice scene but it proved Malcolm didn't just contribute as an actor. Loved that movie. Kubrick was a genius with color.

Oh yes on both accounts - although I remember reading an older article where Malcolm had complained about Kubrick's insensitivity to actors. Made me wonder.

I'm sure Kubrick was a miserable sod at times. Most geniuses are. But he had a vision. Probably my favorite director. I think it's possible he was offed after he did eyes wide shut. They manipulated the movie after his death. But hell, I think he may have had something to do with the moon landing footage. Armstrong's footage was live? What if something went wrong. How the hell could they broadcast live from the moon, regardless of delay time. Not saying it didn't happen, but how could you send a signal that far with 60's technology?
