I couldn't agree more.

I only know my points when I get a notification. And I never know when I'm on the weekly leaderboard or where I am in the top list unless someone tells me. Although there's nothing wrong in having goals like that, I feel like the people you meet and the comments you engage in are what makes Imgflip fun.

One can be so obsessed with the point system that the line can be crossed from begging upvotes to coercing individuals to do so.

I find it ironic that the begging for upvotes stream has over 100 followers and everyone asking for upvotes but usually getting less than 10 upvotes. So everyone wants to receive them but not give them.

Lol, yes I also noticed that. Generally I see an average gain of less than 10 upvotes as you've said.
I then realized it no better than my own submissions to the usual "Fun" stream.

I did notice a few or just one exception; Beckett347 sometimes get upwards of less than 30 Upvotes but he's well known, having 50 followers unlike others like myself.
