THE FEAR MAKES IT TASTE BETTER | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Joking aside; meat from animals raised better actually does taste better than more industrial raised livestock. A steak from a full grass fed cow is less greasy and better tasting than a grain finished one. But to say I must be vegan or vegetarian otherwise I hate animals is a pretty quick conclusion to jump to

I used to love eating meat, too and ate grass-fed cows but does taste justify cruelty?

What are you defining as cruel? The way the raised, the way they're killed, or both?

I'm defining both as cruel. Would raising someone nicely justify killing them unnecessarily?

If I had the means to hunt my own meat knowing that the animal lived its life not being raised just to be eaten also make that cruel? Even if I planned to eat every part of that animal would it still be unnecessary?
The point I am trying to make here is this: being vegan is your choice and I have no problem with that. I respect that. However, the human body is built to be omnivorous. That's why we have teeth for biting, tearing, and grinding. There are some nutients that our bodies are bad at absorbing through eating plants alone. If I were to eat a strict vegan diet I would have to either eat a ton of certain foods to get the amount of folate or B12--just a couple examples off the top of my head--that I need, I could also take a supliment. Or I could eat a piece of fish or chicken and need to eat less of it to get what I need.
I just can't seem to understand shaming people for their biology. That saying because I prefer to eat meat as a more efficient way of getting my body the nutrients I need I therefore can't like animals.
All I'm saying is it's taking it a bit to the extreme.

And is there a humane way to kill an animal who doesn't want to die for an unnecessary reason?
1 up, 5y
Once again, I don't think feeding myself or my family an unnecessary reason, that being said, especially with something like hunting there's something known as a "clean kill" where the animal is killed instantly and does not suffer or feel pain.

I'm not here to attack, but you might want to be ready to receive responses in a form of ridicule. I imagine you are a Vegan?

Aw, thank you. Yep, I am vegan.

While I'm also against animal cruelty, there exists an unfortunate fact. we are omnivores. We're supposed to eat meat.

While we can take protein pills, and any other in its place, it is not a natural diet for human beings. Consequence might naturally occur.

So, luckily for people like you and me who are against animal cruelty aka most people, we can, in fact get all of our essential nutrients and amino acids from plants, without taking protein pills. D'you know where the animals humans eat get their nutrients from?

Yes, but they're no substitute. Animals eat plants, which in turn makes meat nutricious.

And, we'll have to eat more plants to feel full then we do with meat.

But if we are against animal cruelty, we wouldn't want to partake in industries that are cruel to them, would we?
If we can get the same taste and texture by just eating plants, why not do that, if we're against animal cruelty? Does eating animal products then not conflict with caring about animals?
Nutritionally, plants are by far a much better source of nutrients than animal flesh and actually absorb much better than animal products, which are also the main causes of our top killers, cancer, heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
It's true that one has to eat more when eating plant foods in order to feel full but does convenience justify cruelty?

It's expensive. Very expensive which is unforunate because obviously not all can afford it.

Aside note, i LOVE Vegan food! I do hope that they make a better hotdog, it tastes wierd.
