The more rational one is, the more one distances himself from religion.

Only when that religion is Catholicism. The problem is that atheists haven’t seen the light of Protestantism.

Religion was invented by tyrants to control how the populous think, we must quickly absolve religion so people can think on their own.

The prophets in the Bible weren't tyrants. Besides, how do you explain some of the miracles that occurred, like the Bible having predicted the existence of the Catholic Church as the antichrist? Martin Luther & John Calvin were also not tyrants, nor was Buddha, and there were many tribal pagan tribal religions that didn't have human leaders. Religion can be used by a government to control, but only if that religion has a physical authority, like the magisterium in Catholicism.

The miracles were made up myths, and for the anti-christ, he, according to Christians, doesn't' even exist yet.

How exactly would one be able to simply make-up all of the Bible stories, especially considering how many great ones there are, and considering that most Bible stories portrayed the Israelites as stateless? And according to religious Protestants like myself, the Catholic Church is the antichrist, as clearly predicted in Daniel and Revelation. Jesus also hated the Roman Empire for being a socialist dictatorship. Only beyond the Bible is where religion is used to control folks. Some of the Roman Catholic Church's many sins involve pagan disobedience to the Bible, including the removal of the second Biblical commandment in favor of splitting the tenth biblical commandment (to justify papal infallibility), and moving the sabbath day from Saturday to Sunday.

Ask WHY they suffer, and determine if their suffering is their own doing. Otherwise you will be suffering with them.

Even if it is their own fault that they suffer, you should still try to help them, not by giving them money, but by introducing them to a program or counseling them.
