Actualy not defending the meme but it has always been fake news. Always. They have always manufactured stories, twisted stories, reported part of the facts and generally run themselves as businesses only interested in a dollar whether it be newspaper, radio, tv, or internet.
And if you where to stupid to have known this (not you, but anyone) then what can one say. Except their is obviosly a lot of people who still believe everything they read, hear or are told. Probably where that old saying comes from.
