This is what I have. I have days where the sound of my own voice hurts me. The sound of the keys on the keyboard are too loud. Any all sound is bothersome sometimes. Different sounds at different volumes and pitches cause me different problems. I have unpleasant sensations such as feeling as though a string is being pulled through my brain, a whooshing or sensation that water is rolling through my ears/head, A thumping or fluttering in my ear drums, buzzing sensations, stabbing feelings, dizziness, panic, extreme irritation and at times a desperate urge to run away from the sound. Earplugs sometimes do the job but sometimes they cause me pain or do not provide enough relief. I had Bell's Palsy several years ago and it left me with this hearing problem.

Even with THAT being what I live with I despise this jazz hands thing. I would rather sit in a room full of painful applause than make everyone look like idiots flapping their hands around.

I have chronic migraines. Sounds hurt. Light hurts. Movement hurts. The sound of my own blood in my ears f**king hurts. I cant even talk sometimes because it hurts. You know what i do? I stay out of loud situations because they are a trigger. I wear dark sunglasses. I do NOT expect others to understand. I appreciate my friends who know to keep their voices low. But i would never in a million years expect people to give a flying f**k about my condition, you know why? Because i am not a victim. And people carrying out daily activities are not in the wrong.

That sucks. Migraines are terrible. Do you get the aura with these?

That is exactly how I feel. I do have to ask people to lower their voice sometimes because otherwise I couldn't hold a conversation, but it's absurd to try and force the world to accommodate me.

Wow. That's crazy. Sorry to hear about your ailment.

And yeah, I seriously thought a bunch of people were stroking out at first. It looked like a cult!

I think the claim is that jazz hands hahaha, is racist because blacks where predominately jazz musicians.

I think it's more the political organizations wanting to have control over the public. My city council subjects us to it too. But they on more than one occasion have let us know they don't like or want to hear from us. Other things they've done is eliminate accommodations for seniors and the disabled, while keeping it for children. At one meeting the council decided that there were too many people speaking and cut all our time to speak to one minute. Can you tell I can relate? Only upvotes! :)

Oh, jeez, I'm sorry! I thought this was only in college campuses.

It's not your fault, no need to apologize. Just realize that there's more of it going on than you think.
