This is in no way intended to attack Catholics, as I was one who've cared very much about it growing up, as I've also despised many Protestants who are engaged in scorning; often they've delighted in bringing up abuses of the RCc.

The purpose of this meme however is to bring to your awareness how serious this subject really is.

I've so many times observed and met well-meaning Catholics who thinks we're all one family. Sadly, we're not, because there is only one Gospel (Galatians 1:6-9). And, contrary to what many think (Catholics and non-Protestants alike), the Gospel is not the whole Bible, or is it the New Testament; it is the message that saves (1 Corinthians 15:1-5).

And what saves is not obedience to the law, whether by the law or by conscience (Romans 2:11-24, 3:19-20, & 21-26), but by Faith Alone in Jesus Christ.

He alone saves... not us.

So we are not called to do kind acts? What about "feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked" what about the good samaritan who was the only one to lift a finger to help his neighbor while the "more righteous" ones walked past?

Hi Kate; Salvation, and Christian humanitarianism, are two different subjects.

I don't know of any catholic today that believes we may earn salvation through works. At least that is something I've never been taught. I understand it as acting because the grace of God moves you to do good. It is the cooperation with grace that gets you to heaven much like cooperating with His grace when you choose baptism.

With respect, I have already shown what it means to earn ones salvation on your meme. If those Catholics you know, do indeed not earn their salvation, then they would not subscribe to Faith and Works.

I've asked you that if you can lose your salvation, and you said yes to it, then obviously the grounds for condemnation is sin. And what is sin? Disobedience to God.

Now how to obey God, rather than act in disobedience? Would that not be the Law, both by the letter and by conscience (Romans 2:11-24 & James 4:17)? And the Bible said that Salvation is by Faith Alone (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Also Jesus said a tree that does not bear good fruit should be cut down and burned. What good fruits are we to bring on account of being saved?

Matthew 7:21-23 speaks of true and false converts. True converts are ones who naturally act as. opposed to false converts who also act per their nature, but are not truly converted.

Every tree, which you see later in the chapter, is known by it's fruits A good tree cannot bear bad fruits nor can a bad tree bear good fruits.

False converts cannot please or obey God becaus e they've never believed in the first place (1 Corinthians 15:3-4 & Romans 8:7). If such a Goat, "Judas", enters and mingles among the Sheep, and behaives like them, then time will reveal who he really is. And often it is through unrepentant sin he is revealed. Or, persecution. Either way, 1 John 2:19-20:

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

But true converts, behaves like Sheep, because they are Sheep. When they're saved, they went from possessing a Carnal mind to being Spritually minded (Romans 8:6-7): slave to sin, to being a slave to righteousness (Romans 6:16-18), and this is possible because they're a new Creature (2 Corinthians 5:17).

New creature, new nature (1 John 3:6-9).

The evidence of their conversion, is a life of obedience; opposed to those who simply claimed to be (James 2:14-26), but are not.

My mistake, the passage about the good and bad tree is before verses 21-23. 5:15-20 is about false prophets, then Jesus transitioned to the subject of true and false converts:

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Now, in this passage, you can use vs 21 as to disprove Sola Fide, but then, you must account for vs 22. At that, you may reply: "Easy, have both. Salvation is neither by Faith Alone or Works Alone but by both."

If you'll say that... you've already forgotten what I've said about faith, being the requirement in the Law of Moses (James 4:17).
