Tolkien is my favorite. The Hobbit and LOTR trilogy, that's my jam. Never made it around to the Silmarillion but maybe some day, I don't have much time to read any more. Dune is also a good one.

Can't beat 'em for that genre for sure! I haven't read Silmarillion either. Yeah Dune, really good.

Loved "Animal Farm," "Little Women," and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" in my younger years.

When I read Animal Farm in school I didn't know enough about history to get it but I liked it ok much later... I haven't read the others.

Bill the Galactic Hero, Hitcherhiker's trilogy (So long and thanks for all the fish was the best in the series), anything by Heinlein, Asimov and Dune was a great read. I wish I could remember the author and name of a series of short stories about worlds where robots live. I remember one story being about a great inventor robot making a new robot that could only add two plus two and always got the answer wrong.

The Stainless Steel Rat series was excellent for me, but I had to nitpick it some of the author's lapses in timelines.

Non-sci fi: King Rat, Catch 22 and more that escape me at the moment.

Add Martha Grimes Inspector Jury series (but later books became too easy), Agatha Christi (didn't read many of them, but Liked what I read.

Andromeda Strain (good book, good movie), Sphere (good book, bad movie) Rising Sun (Better book than the movie, but the movie was alright)

Hunt for Red October and Without Remorse

Sci-Fi fan! I didn't read any of the Hitchhiker ones. Little bit of Asimov. Are you a Philip K. Dick fan? I like that mind-bending stuff! I did read King Rat, I liked it a lot.

Philip K Dick wrote the book Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep that became Blade Runner. Great book.

"LSD: My Problem Child" by Dr. Albert Hoffman and "Medical Cannabis Healing" by Dr. Mark Sircus. Bost great and informative books which do a good job on shattering the "All drugs are bad" myth.

Currently reading "Body Mind Balancing: Using Your Mind to Heal the Body" by Osho. Osho was a man I greatly respect for his wisdom and understanding, although he was a hedonist and a bit too New-Agey for my taste.

I've also read "The Silmarillion", but stopped halfway through. Still have no idea why.

I do have some books that I intend to read when I get the time and opportunity to do so:
"Paganism Explained" series by Varg Vikernes
"The Secrets of the She-Bear" by Marie Cachet
"Chernobog's Riddles" by Stefan Cvijetinović
"The Most Dangerous Superstition" by Larken Rose
Pretty much any and all books by Alan Watts, Terence McKenna and Friedrich Nietzche
"What does this button do?" by Bruce Dickinson
"Lord of the Rings" series by JRR Tolkien
"Dark Tower" series by Stephen King

Good stuff. I was way into McKenna back in the day. Have you read Rick Strassman's book on DMT?
I read all the Dark Tower stuff too, that was a cool series but my favorite of King's was "The Stand".
I'll have to check out some of the ones you listed, I'm reading one about Nordic religion right now...my ancestry is German & Native American so I've always been interested in Indo-European mythology. Man, I love Allen Watts too.

Nope. Guess I'll read that one sometime as well.

Is it, by any chance "Norse Mythology" by Neil Gaiman? My friend is currently reading that one.

My ancestry is Southern European (Slavic+Dinaric with more Dinaric features),so I also have a built-in interest for the European mythology. Loved the Greek one as a child. Christianity, Islam and other Abrahamic religions were always boring for me, even while I was a Christian.

The Strassman book called "DMT the Spirit Molecule" This guy conducted a series of tests on a group of volunteers from all different backgrounds to see how they reacted to the experience. It's kind of tedious in parts with a lot of technical info. but when it gets to the testimony of the volunteers it's pretty interesting.
The book I'm reading about the Norse mythology is called something like "Mysteries of the Norse, German & English"

It's about this kid who suddenly gets targeted by everybody in his class. He's a "Grunt". A person that's been picked by a keeper of the Bully Book to target so the keeper can become the top of everyone.
It's a mystery story.

That's cool. It sounds like it's about hallucinogens or psychic warfare
or something lol.
I bought the book version for the first 6 star wars episodes
a few years ago, but only got around to reading the first one.

Well I haven't read it for a while, and I don't actually have the book, but here goes.

Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia crash-land on a planet, and then they go on a mission to find a powerful crystal before Darth Vader gets his hands on it.

Only a lot more interesting. I promise.
