ITS VERY COMPLICATED | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
I wish there was a simple clear answer, but there isn't. I don't own any guns, but I am not anti-gun and allow people to hunt my land. That said I fear angry white men with no police record more than I fear criminals. I believe the reason is not our culture of guns, but more of the push by forces to make us angry, to make us fear, to make us distrust each other.

Now to my gun owning friends, beware, your absolute rejection of any gun laws will be what will get your guns taken away. We need gun laws and more importantly, gun training. I was trained to shoot when I was 12 by an NRA class. Then they were about gun safety and insuring sportsmen were sensible. Now it's about fear and selling more guns.

To my friends that want all guns banned, guns again are not the problem. Its the culture of the Rambo wannabes and the hate they absorb. Constantly being told they are coming for you! You need to attack the messengers of this hate, not legal guns.

And to any asshole that brings up gun violence in cities or states that have strict gun laws, F**K YOU! its the states that don't enforce gun laws that allow profiteers to buy guns they know they are going to sell to criminals.

FYI: Sweden is about to ban machetes. England/Wales had 40,000 stabbings in 2018. It’s not a gun problem. It is a violence problem.
A 20yr old lady just killed her 12yr old brother and shot her aunt and grandmother. A woman in Britain just sentenced to life in prison for suffocating both her small children. In Africa, entire Christian villages are being burned. In India women who reject men’s sexual advances get acid thrown on their face.

The problem is senseless violence of all types. What is the answer?

Evidently the answer is just more and more guns. Perhaps everyone should carry a machete in Sweden. Likewise knives in England/Wales.
And yes - human beings do kill each other and the problem is senseless violence. Maybe limited access to implements that can kill 20 people in half a minute would help a little.

Maybe it is all the news creating copycats! In Switzerland the crime news does not report the crimes, but the the consequences (i.e. the criminal getting sentenced for the crime).
I’m glad you agree on senseless violence. Don’t forget the Columbine H.S. Idiots took propane tanks to explode into the school. Take away one means and someone will think up another.

stop using the work military assault type weapon. thats just a fancy word the media used because they dont even know what that is. a citizen cant even get a military assault type weapon. and an AR-15 isnt even and assault rifle

Devastated families are making funeral arrangements and you’re arguing about the definition of an assault rifle?

people make funeral arrangements everyday, thats not gonna change. but misconception of the media is unacceptable . if they cant even listen to people trying to correct them or research the things they talk about to correctly state things how can i trust anything else from them. gun crimes have been going on for a long time, so how come now we're so focused on it and not on other violence. i think its safe to say that the media turning these things into bigger deals than needed and putting so many peoples attention on these incidents that maybe its causing more people to do these horrible things because the media is in a way glorifying how bad they are. if they spend a week discussing one incident, involving a certain type of gun that gets more attention than any other (talking about rifles compared to pistols) if we keep putting these crimes and people in the spot light for an instance, dont you think that would make an already mental crazy person more inclined to go through with such a terrible thing since they now know how much attention will be on them and what they did? and i wasnt really arguing the definition of an assault rifle at all, just stating that what these people are using for the most part, are just modern sporting rifles, not some fancy full auto military rifle. i do understand assault rifles have been used and other weapons of such but someone who is going to illegally buy a powerful weapon to kill people is going to get his way either with an assault rifle he bought illegally or a pistol he bought at walmart. yes the weapons that have been used to kill people will kill more people that a baseball bat in those scenarios but my point is, taking away a less lethal weapon isnt going to stop a killer from killing, it will just stop him from killing as many people, but at the same time taking away good people ability to defend themselves in their home, at work, or out playing with the kids at the park.

No. Nothing will ever stop people from killing each other. Don't know that anyone has ever claimed that.
"yes the weapons that have been used to kill people will kill more people than a baseball bat in those scenarios but my point is, taking away a less lethal weapon isn't going to stop a killer from killing, it will just stop him from killing as many people" - good enough for me and for the people and their families who won't be killed!
BTW: Shotgun is widely considered the best way to defend your home. And according to statistics there is a 0.8% risk of a home invasion in the US. There are 393 million firearms.

i literally said that taking away someone's gun isnt going to stop them from killing. people have been murdering other from the beginning of time when there wasnt even "weapons". yeah a shotgun is probably the best in a home invasion but there are still those of us who prefer a short carbine rifle instead. even so, that still doesnt give the government or whoever, the right to take away weapons that i use for hunting, sporting or recreational shooting just because other people miss use those things. is the amount of deaths from car accidents or deaths by drunk drivers killing other people enough that we would ban cars from every person? no. so why does it make sense to ban guns that are of no threat with people who know how to properly use them. my rifle isnt hurting anybody by sitting under my bed. it also depends on your geographical location, where i live now, home break ins is pretty much 0. where i lived in california our street would have break ins almost every other week. and lots of us on our street kept guns readily available, for our protection. and if you lived someone with lots of gang violence that would make sense to think that you should be aloud to have a weapon of protection. so to say that no american needs a modern rifle such as the popular AR-15 for any reason, is just bs because it depends on your location and situation/ neighborhood. at the end of the day, america is never going to be free of murders or mass killings, and theyre never going to take away our guns. you will literally die if you try coming into my house and taking away my weapons
