Back in 30s , after the depression, everybody was broke with 0 chance of retiring. Thet were going vote everybody out of office. So the politicians came up with the "new deal". Basically trade agreements , but most importantly social security. The promise that future generations would pay for their retirement.

I don’t think you’re quite understanding that we do work, we do put money into social security, and we take it out as well because we can. Liberals get Welfare because they can. See how this goes both ways?

I dont think liberals should get welfare. And social security is....."socialism". At 6%, after 40 yrs , that only covers 2 years of retirement

I know it’s socialism. If we save up for our own retirement we can have as much as we want. I think Liberals with disabilities or major financial hardships should have Welfare, but only for a limited time, same for conservatives for that matter

Well said sir. Just a note......we already had a thing everyone could invest in and mutually benefit, it's called the stock market. The only kind of socialism that works is "potluck socialism ",....if you dont work you dont eat.
