I disagree on the ban. As people could still get those weapons, or build an explosive etc.. I think people are effing CRAZY and we gotta ask why. Seems funny all these people doing these things are usually on medications. Makes me wonder really.

That's not exactly the same thing.If you have something that is easily obtainable through illegal channels no law will stop a person from getting hold of it. That's just a fact. You could argue that people are less LIKELY to gain access to said forbidden item but only the law abiding and logically thinking people. If someone is hell bent on hurting and killing they are going to do it no matter what law you make to restrict their access. And if they can't find a way to get what ever it is that has been banned, they will find another way.

Ponder this.... He could not get the weapon in California... if California were an island, he (and many many others) would not have been able do this... but he went to Nevada and got one.... so what that means are the laws are not tough enough, nor far reaching enough. Bet he would not have tried to get one in Mexico or Canada.

You may not believe that he could, but where there is a will there is a way. Now on to what my actual point was. How do you want to address the crazy factor? Why does everyone want to ban this fire arm and that fire arm accessory, yet no one wants to address THE ROOT CAUSE of these problems? Ban everything, make everyone take a back ground check, a mental evaluation. How is that going to stop a mad man? If that man wants to kill people he is going to find a way. I would like to hear your thoughts on THAT.

You did not answer the question, why ban assault weapons? is the same question as why ban sarin gas?

I am not the one proposing a ban. And you keep talking about this gas, how about we ban motor vehicles. People doe DAILY thanks to these evil machines. Let us not forget the bathtubs crazy women drown their children in. AND the water they filled the tub with. To prevent stabbings we need to ban all kitchen knives, sewing scissors and general sharp objects. Stupid isn't it? People who want to kill are going to do it. You can't stop a person who is out to kill people. They will find a way.
