That Gillette ad was nothing but a bunch of virtue signaling blowhards pretending to care about women when really they don't give a damn about the real horrors real women face!
I dare say many would even deny these claims and call me a racist for making such "accusations". I know they would, people has done me that way before!
I have stuck up for women before. I have helped elderly women walk across parking lots. I have busted wood for elderly women still using a wood stove.
I DO NOT LIKE BEING LABELED A RAPIST BY A BUNCH OF IDIOTS ON TV!!!
"You don't like an ad telling men to be better?"
I don't like the ad labeling all men as bad. I don't like the ad calling every interaction between man and woman harassment.
The ad doesn't even begin to point out real wrongs against women! Looking at a woman is not rape. Going to talk to a lady I find attractive is not sexual harassment. And to say so makes light of women who are victims of real crime!
They say they made the ad intending to incite a reaction. Well did they include SUICIDES in their reaction!? Hell no!!! Because they care even less about boys than they do about girls! Young boys in school has committed suicide for constantly being bullied and people lying about them. What are they to think now when they see how it is wrong for them to even approach a girl they find attractive? That doing so makes them a sexual predator, a potential rapist, in the eyes of society?! Boys commit suicide over being bullied online. This ad pretty much tells them they are bad for being boys! Is it really a far stretch of the mind to see how this will negatively affect many boys / men?! This ad was intended to be harmful towards men!
I am not surprised that the president of Procter & Gamble said they stood by it 100%. I'm not surprised the media asked, "is it that big of a deal?" I'm not even surprised Vice made a video mocking critics of the ad. I'm just surprised at how many people bought it.
