As to your later point that women just don't want to run, I know that's not true. Most of my representatives in Chicago on the municipal, state, AND federal level would campaign to move up in the ranks on a heartbeat and I'd support the hell out of them because they are excellent at what they did.

I have had that conversation with other Democratic voters and there is a lot to unpack in that discussion. It certainly isn't as simple a conversation as you're making it out to be. I do believe we can do better than Sanders now, but I will stick to my guns that watering down the changes we need to this country to make it a better deal for more people is not the best answer.

Biden and Sanders are indeed old white men about whom Democrats themselves do not agree because we likely could do better. For as much as I hate whining about the parties being the same because I know they're not, I do remember feeling absolutely hopeless that the 2016 Vice Presidential debate looked like Statler and Waldorf live from the balcony - and I do think the voter disengagement reflected that.

Well, I know for a fact you know the answer to that really because you and I have argued endlessly about the Electrical College: you have to correct for demographic distributions by states where their influence over the Presidency has been watered down. By raw popular votes, our President would now be a woman and you just explained why.

Britain doesn't have a popular vote for the head of government either! They do for referendums and for your most immediate Member of Parliament but the party chooses the party leader and therefore the Prime Minister.
