Science has been disproving previous science since the creation of science. Anyone who thinks science is about "truth" or "fact" is an ignorant fool. Science is about drawing conclusions from available data and changes based on new data. Often those conclusions are nothing more than scientific consensus, which just means many people agree that something is the best possible guess because they don't have enough data to prove it one way or the other.
