I won't lie to you. I don't visit the streams much. I usually just go to people's pages to see what they have. I don't always look to see hat stream they have posted them in either. However, MOST of the 4th of July memes I saw were not political. I will assume I did not necessarily see everyone that was out there though.

I do agree that if they are actually political they should be in the politics stream.

I thot you were going to say yes. So I'm glad I asked. I had ancestors that died in the Revolutionary War (American) and I guess I'm thinking that that's pretty political. But I definitely respect your opinion and your right to have it and to express it. I made a meme yesterday and it was rejected as political, so I redid it and submitted it to the political stream and they rejected it too! So this got me thinking that that was pretty wild considering some things I've seen on here. That's why I made this (above) meme cuz I decided that when you get down to it everything about Independence Day is Political (not bad, just political). Thanks for your comments. I'm gonna think more about this.

Well, just digging here... have you by chance any enemies, or at the very least people with whom you clash around here? Because I am feeling that perhaps that second time you may have been flagged for spite. I saw that exact meme and up voted it. I see another in the fun stream as we speak, made by someone else.

I haven't had any beefs with anyone. Everyone has been great. I love making memes, they are a fun way to express your sense of humor and creativity. I really like your idea of having an appeal available to us. That's a fabulous idea nixieknox!

So many memes get pulled unfairly and with no means of disputing the unfeature. We ought to get a fair shake ya know. I'm with you there too. This is what saves my sanity sometimes. It's a good way to unwind and channel some creative energy.

Whether we consider an image "political" is mainly about whether it's provoking political argument or debate. So just a pure celebratory meme can be fun, but a meme that broadcasts a provoking one-sided political opinion would be political. Even memes that are directly about politics can be considered non-political, for example if they are just making fun of political systems in general in a self-deprecating way, such as the "congress is the opposite of progress" meme.
