Oh the crap i have seen!

Waiting tables I saw all kinds of nastiness. Customers changing poopy baby diapers AT THE TABLE then leaving the nasty diaper UNDER the table. Never going to wash their hands either! So take along some sanitary wipes to wash down the table and chairs if you go out for sure!

So glad I 'm back in manufacturing!

That was a lot of physical work. I liked the monotony. I could just zone out and glue on eases, or folder pockets or whatever all day and the time would just fly by.

I started my employment working in the pressroom of my father's newspaper. I enjoyed the fact that everyday was different. Now I am a quality tech working for a multinational company and again I enjoy that things are always changing. Hated mindless work.

I don't know why I love things that stay the same. It's weird.

its comfortable. I prefer having to learn new things as I get bored with safe, but that goes against human nature.

I like learning new things, but I think it feels sort of hypnotizing doing some sort of repetition.

I get that. Mindless work can free you up to get lost in thought. But I like having to know things and my job requires me to know each of our 2000+ products and 800+ customers. I had to point out to our VP of our division that we were the only department that had to do that as every other department could specialize including the production department. (19 production lines, but separated into groups)

I was a supervisor in a fabric store for a few years. It was a lot like that. Totally different type of thing. Had to learn some math, and actually could run numbers in my head with 100% accuracy after a while. Of course, being that my hobbies were a part of my job also made it more interesting. But I get you're saying.
