Those people were for strong borders, a system where one man rules the country in a personality cult, strong armies, nationalism, imperialism, killing traitors or sending them to gulags, and were against huge corporations and capitalist vermin exploiting the citizens. Granted, those people were terrible and I vehemently despise them, but they are almost the complete opposite of what the Democrats stand for (on the y axis of the political compass). There is the Authoritarian left and the Libertarian left. The Democrats are libertarians and international socialists. They aren't capable of forming evil empires, and that is no there goal. Their goal is anarchy and total control of the human mind, body, and spirit. If those puny democrats existed in Russia in the early years of Lenin's regime, they would have all been murdered or sent to the gulag for being too stupid to benefit the leaders.
