I think that reasonable debte is the best way to a considerate and effective resolution. Vaccines aren't perfect, nothing is, and we've survived millennia without it, but it's a medical miracle that works with our own immune system, and the benefit outweighs any sort of risk, unless there's some sort of allergy or immunocompromisation. If someone is able to get it with little negative effect, they, in my opinion, should, in order to help people who are immunocompromised and could die if they contract the disease. Futhermore, there are incredibly deadly diseases that we've been able to nearly wipe out. If you look at anti-vaccination movements compared with spread of disease, there's a correlation. That being said, you don't have to receive every single vaccine available, but those which allow you to combat diseases which would otherwise kill people are incredibly beneficial to society.

The side effects of vaccines are far more deadly than the diseases are that the vaccines are supposed to prevent.

Polio, if conrtacted when unvaccinated, will still ravage your body, and it's not as though it's gone extinct. The measles vaccine is 97% effective, with an incredibly small fraction of the remaining 3% contracting it from the vaccine itself. As a matter of fact, there was a measles outbreak in the Portland-Washington area, which is an anti-vaccination "hotspot".

The opposite can be said about the measles outbreak that made California mandate vaccines. It was a location with many vaccinated folks.

I haven't had a vaccine in 3, as I'm up to date on my vaccinations. However, I'm going to receive another in several years, in order to maintain immunity to potentially fatal diseases. Additionally, just because you haven't vaccinated in a while doesn't mean your immune system has 'forgotten' how to combat the disease. Technically, the vaccines you recieved 9 years ago are still working in your immune system. Vaccines don't weaken, override, or work along with your immune system. They teach it.

In technicality, none are, as it's said herd immunity and the person's own immune system that prevents propagation, but if you've had the vaccine for something, your body doesn't just randomly stop warding off a disease. It'll continue using the information it received from the vaccine for potentially decades, sometimes even until you die. Children's immune systems, however, are weaker, so they need to 're-learn' how to defend themselves until they 'remember', which is why they receive multiple rounds of a vaccine, and why you don't need as many as an adult.

What research did this come from? Anyway, yes, the entire purpose of a vaccine is to give your immune system the thing you're trying to prevent the person from contracting in the future. If not done properly, it could potentially give you that disease. Yes, it does intoxicate the person, with that disease. The reason the area the vaccine is injected into becomes inflamed is because your immune system is rushing to the scene, trying to learn how to fight the disease, to get it out of your body.
